Don't like "The Last Airbender"? Neither do we -- that's why we're remaking it.

^ I wouldn't bother with Haru too. He's pretty much replaceable, except for the mustache Razz

As for Suki, I like the idea of her being a more prominent character. But she needs to be taken by Azula in Movie 2. So we need to have Suki going back to the Kyoshi Warriors at some point, be it halfway through Movie 1 or at the start of Movie 2.

The Mechanist: we could leave him out until Movie 3 if we have to. This will basically depend on how religiously do we want to follow the series.

Essentially, we should include the episodes where there's quite a bit of character development.

Okay, this sounds like a good idea. So the Gaang will meet the Kyoshi Warriors briefly, and Suki will follow them (probably for the Avatar, later for Sokka) to the North Pole. I'd be interested to see her react to the Yuekka things, if she even feels that way at that point. We can have her fighting and looking awesome, and it'll introduce the Kyoshi Warriors without complications.

At the beginning of Movie 2, it would be pretty easy to have some Big Problem come up on Kyoshi Island, so that she has to go back home for a while.

Maybe we can even have that at the end of the first movie so its sets it up and we wouldn't have to worry about adding it in.

I don't really like the idea of the Kyoshi Warriors going to the NWT but it's fine. I found a problem though, how are they going to get there? Appa can't fit Aang, Katara, Sokka, and the Kyoshi Warriors. Maybe only Suki should go?

If you'll read the posts before yours, you'll notice that's what everyone is saying. They'll meet the Kyoshi Warriors, but only Suki will go with them.

I like most of the ideas here so far. The only thing is I'd like if we could fit Jet's storyline in somehow. It helps give Katara's character some growth and sets up his larger storyline in the second - unless you guys want to wait to introduce him until then, which would be okay... just trying to think about where it'd fit best.

I posted an idea on the page before. Katara and Sokka could meet Jet while Aang is at the NAT or the SAT

    Exactly what I was thinking.

Maybe the Gaang can go to Kyoshi to pick up supplies for their Earth Kingtom journeys at the beginning of the 2nd movie, only to find it in shambles because of a Fire Nation raid, and Suki chooses to stay behind and help the villagers rebuild the town.

Then at some point later she can try to join the others at Ba Sing Se, but on her way there she gets attacked by Ozai's Angels.

Good ideas. ^_^ Also, what if we added an emotional aspect into it? Some romantic tension with Sokka. I have Nyquil in my system, so I don't know if this will sound good to anyone who's sober right now. But Suki always showed this soft, inner feminine side on the show, along with her fierce warrior side. What if we have her leave to help her village, but also because she's upset/jealous/feeling rejected/some other emotion over the Yuekka romance? While she's off dealing with that, the Gaang can go on their way, Suki can get kidnapped, we can have Sokka finding out and being upset...

What about this: Warriors Of Kyoshi/Imprisoned/Jet/Northern Air Temple? Aang leaves for the NAT after the gAang arrives at an island they decide it would be a good resting place. Then while Aang is gone, Katara and Sokka explore the island and find Kyoshi village. They find out from local villagers that the Fire Nation has been occupying this area and have a metal prison on the other side of the island where they keep the earthbenders. They explain not even their toughest warriors could keep out the Fire Nation, and all their best efforts have failed. Katara explains to Sokka that they have to help these people and then the scene cuts to Aang at the NAT. After his scene is over, we see fire nation soldiers panicking at Kyoshi village and Katara and Sokka overhear them saying that there's some sort of commotion at the prison. Katara and Sokka sneak over to the prison and hide behind some bushes to see the Kyoshi Warriors trying another effort to break open the prison. Katara convinces Sokka to help them and they join in on the fight. Some action scenes go on, and during one, Sokka and Suki are surrounded by soldiers and Sokka makes a comment like "Nice fighting, for a girl." and then Suki replies "You thought that was impressive?" followed by her taking out all of the soldiers while Sokka is still struggling to take out one of them. Jet comes in at one point and basically helps finish the battle and free the prisoners. Suki asks Jet who he is because she has never seen him before. He explains that he snuck on a FN ship heading here that was carrying weapons, when the ship arrived, he dumped all the weapons off the ship and then got off the ship, only to find a village imprisoned by the Fire Nation. His duty as a freedom fighter told him he he had to help rid this island of the Fire Nation.
Then there's more of Aang at the NAT.

After that Sokka, Katara, and Jet ward off the rest of the Fire Nation on the island and free the earthbenders. Aang returns meets Jet and the Kyoshi Warriors and tells them he's the avatar. He says that he is sorry for not being around and not being able to help them. Jet says he has to get back to his home, and he'll just sneak onto one of the fleeing FN ships heading toward the EK. Katara and Sokka say that they also need to get going because they need to get to the NWT to find a waterbending teacher for Aang. Suki says goodbye and thanks them for all their help, and they can start fixing the damage the FN has done to their home.

I wrote this on my iPod so their is probably many typos and mistakes. But how does that sound?

It sounds good, but there's the problem of having it not really related to the rest of the movie. It's kind of like this random adventure that, if you take out, would make zero difference for the film. That's not a good sign.

It's like with Tom Bombadil from LOTR. Also, what's Aang doing at the NAT? Hanging out with Teo and the Mechanist?

That would be fantastic. It's a very powerful story point that can be done with just a single bit of dialgue or even just a look.

Here's a thought: I've always thought the NWT siege ended too cleanly. If we have time, it'd be nice to see the NWT people dealing with the no-doubt massive amounts of Fire Nation corpses that will litter the city. I imagine that they would pile them onto an ice floe and send them out to sea, almost like what the Vikings did to their warriors, showing that they have enough honor to treat the dead of their enemies with respect.

I've also had the idea of combining the Kyoshi Warriors with The Blue Spirit by having the Gaang stop at Kyoshi, meet Suki, and then having Aang get kidnapped by the Yu Yan while he and Katara go off to practice Waterbending or something. Then The Blue Spirit can happen with Suki, Sokka, and Katara going off to try to rescue Aang only to have him being rescued by Zuko.

Kyoshi Warriors/Blue Spirit? That gives me another idea.... (this is adding on to the idea I posted 2 posts back) Instead of Aang going to the NAT when the gAang arrives at Kyoshi Island, he stays, and pretty much the same thing happens, but after the prison break out, he is nowhere to be found. Katara finds Aang's staff, and starts to get worried because Aang would never leave his staff behind, which leads her to believe he's been captured. The scene then transitions to a ship, with Zhao on the deck. A soldier comes up to him and says "Commander Zhao, the avatar has been successfully captured, he was just delivered to us. But where are we going to keep him imprisoned?" Zhao says that they are going to take him to the NAT, because it now a base owned by the FN where weapons are developed. They arrive at the NAT, and we see the temple is inhabited by people. The mechanist comes up to Zhao and asks "What are you doing here? We've already gave you all the machines we owe you this month". Zhao tells him that he is not here for contraptions, but he is carrying a war prisoner and needs a place to keep him. Zhao says if he declines, then he will burn down the temple. The mechanist reluctantly shows Zhao an old prison hold room. Meanwhile, Katara, Sokka, and Suki continue on their search to find Aang to no avail.

The scene cuts back to Aang, and he awakes to find himself in chains in a dark room. Zhao walks in, says some stuff to Aang, then leaves. Then the Blue Spirit comes in, and basically the same thing happens as in the show, except Aang hides Zuko(when he is unconscious) on Zhao's ship, so he can safely escape on his own, without harming the temples inhabitants. Zhao then leaves the island, believing the avatar has fled somewhere else. Aang then meets up with the mechanist. Aang ask him if he is an Air Nomad, and the mechanist replies with no, and explains his backstory(but leaves out that he makes weapons for the Fire Nation). Aang then sees people with gliders up ahead, and asks if they are airbenders, and again the mechanist says no, and explains that. Aang says that he is an airbender, and the avatar, and asks if he can borrow on of those gliders so he can get back to his friends. The mechanist gives Aang a glider, and then Aang leaves the temple.

Then the rest is pretty much the same, except for adding Aang's reunion with Katara and Sokka.

Interesting idea. But something about this part doesn't seem right. Aang is a master Airbender, and would be able to tell if those people were Airbending almost right away. It just doesn't seem right to have him asking if they were Airbenders.

She and Sokka can bond, but not get together, and we can play with another unrequited love story, except it's the girl crushing on the guy, and the guy actually has another girl in mind (Yue). It'll be like Zutara, but reversed...or something. I don't know. The reason I want Suki to be more prominent is because she will be a major player at the end of the trilogy. M. Night has a point when he said that the Kyoshi Warriors should be cut because they don't show up at the end of the movie, but we can change that if we do include them (or at least just Suki) at the end of the movie.

Yeah I really like that idea. You're the one who posted a script before right? When I read how you included Suki in, and created a bit of a love triangle, I really liked it.

I also think that the romantic/dramatic tension between Sokka/Suki at the beginning of movie 2 like Veeri said would really be a great tie-in for the rest of the movie and a set up for movie 3 for the audience.

Yep, I'm that guy. Glad you enjoyed that! Very Happy

I should really finish writing it. LOL.

I agree. Suki/Sokka is a storyline that's carried throughout the series, so logically it should be carried throughout the movies as well.
