Using some of the music from the track team would be a good idea. There would be some scenes where certain themes would just fit perfectly. Of course, we could remix it a little.

I can't help but agree. Those are the moral and ethical reasons why we should do it that way. Now add to it practical reasons. We've got one or two people who can read and write Chinese really well, and then a few more (like me) who can write it on a conversational level. So it's believeable that we can make that work. We'll mangle little of it, and what we do mess up, people will be willing to excuse given that this is an amateur project.
Mess up? I'm confident enough about my abilities, and Icy's too, given the great job she's done with translation of the texts.
Besides, what we do mess up can be kept among ourselves.
So, we all agree to include the Chinese texts?

Aang ask him if he is an Air Nomad, and the mechanist replies with no, and explains his backstory(but leaves out that he makes weapons for the Fire Nation). Aang then sees people with gliders up ahead, and asks if they are airbenders, and again the mechanist says no, and explains that. Aang says that he is an airbender, and the avatar, and asks if he can borrow on of those gliders so he can get back to his friends. The mechanist gives Aang a glider, and then Aang leaves the temple.
Interesting idea. But something about this part doesn't seem right. Aang is a master Airbender, and would be able to tell if those people were Airbending almost right away. It just doesn't seem right to have him asking if they were Airbenders.

^ I wouldn't bother with Haru too. He's pretty much replaceable, except for the mustache ![]()
As for Suki, I like the idea of her being a more prominent character. But she needs to be taken by Azula in Movie 2. So we need to have Suki going back to the Kyoshi Warriors at some point, be it halfway through Movie 1 or at the start of Movie 2.
The Mechanist: we could leave him out until Movie 3 if we have to. This will basically depend on how religiously do we want to follow the series.
Essentially, we should include the episodes where there's quite a bit of character development.

The Chinese texts don't seem to be necessary, but I would like to see it in the movie
And I can help in that area too
Koizilla vs. Tidal Wave, which is better for live-action? - Sun Jul 04, 2010 10:41 am
47 wrote:How would Aang making a giant wave get rid of the Fire Nation soldiers already in the city? Or are we gonna make like the film and have the Fire Nation surrender?
I don't like Aang personally killing that many people - in the finale he overpowered his Avatar State just to prevent the killing of one single person, and it kinda rubs me wrong to have him killing thousands here. IMHO it'd be best if his actions were really that of the Ocean Spirit's, Koizilla or no Koizilla. He can still feel guilty about having a hand in the deaths of so many, without going overboard and realizing he destroyed his beliefs by actually killing thousands. Otherwise, it'll make his issues in Sozin's Comet ring hollow. What's another life added onto thousands that he took just a few months earlier?
Good point. So in this case, we should have the Ocean Spirit triggering Aang's Avatar State even without Koizilla. Technically, Aang has no control of himself when in the Avatar State, but I guess that excuse isn't good enough

^ That seems good. Except that you missed out "The Storm" and "The Blue Spirit". Maybe we could steal some time from Siege to do that? That is, if we're only going to put everything in 1 film.

Veeri wrote:So it looks unanimous that we don't want the ocean spirit to use Aang to form Koizilla. What about maybe having the ocean spirit help out some other way? (Maybe like what Darkmonkey said.) I can see Aang, sinking under the water, air bubbles slowly rising up around him as he comes close to drowning... And then the ocean spirit gives him some quick words of advice, which give him the guidance to unleash super attack.
That's a good idea. It seems to combine all the ideas without Koizilla. The only thing is that this is way too similar to the scene in "The Avatar Returns"
How advanced should the Fire Nation be? - Sat Jul 03, 2010 4:28 am
DaRkMoNkEy wrote:How advanced do you think the Fire Nation should be? I think the movie made them way to advanced, having electricity generators, cannons, and stuff like that is just to advanced for me. I actually think the Fire Nation should be even less advanced then the show.
The Fire Nation should be more or less as advanced as in the show. All the warships and tanks should be included. They were able to make use of coal to power these stuff, hence the coal mine in "Imprisoned".
Electricity generators and cannons would be way too advanced. Besides, Firebenders are living cannons themselves

HOWEVER, there needs to be a mention of the NAT at some point.
We could combine them. The main point is that we should include the inhabitants of the NAT into the plot.

Sokka's outfit looks perfect. For Katara's outfit, the purple doesn't really look good there. Maybe a lighter shade of purple might be better? ![]()
I like Katara's season 3 hair too, but her hair in season 1 is kind of a part of her identity and all.
What plots/episodes need to be included in the movie? - Fri Jul 02, 2010 11:17 am
It seems like you've practically listed all the episodes that are necessary. I would just like to add on that maybe The Winter Solstice: Part I should be included. Aang needs to be given a reason to go look for Roku. It wouldn't make sense to just send them over into the Fire Nation after Imprisoned. Of course, we could alter the plot a little to give the reason without including the episode.
momo_toph26 wrote:Do you really think Jet is that important to be included?
Yes. He is important because of his appearance in season 2 as well. The fight that Jet gets into with Zuko, it shows Zuko's character development. And it is also because of Jet that the gAang managed to find Lake Laogai. That's quite an important part of season 2.
myhearteatsbeats wrote:And for the Northern Air Temple... do we really need Teo and co.? Or is that episode really important because of the machinery/balloons?
It's important mostly because of the Mechanist. The machinery/balloons are required for DoBS. And the battle in that episode provides some nice action as well. If we were to make this in 2 parts, the 2nd part could be named "Siege of the North", siege of the Northern Water Tribe and also the siege of the Northern Air Temple.
Koizilla vs. Tidal Wave, which is better for live-action? - Fri Jul 02, 2010 11:01 am
Koizilla would definitely be cool. It would be good if we can have both Koizilla and the tidal wave. But to be practical, I think we should leave out Koizilla. It would really be difficult to animate, as mentioned above. So, I think we could just have Aang in the Avatar State. Maybe we should include the part where the Ocean Spirit was glowing along with Aang though.
